Kathleen (Kitty) Paino grew up on the north Oregon coast, and now lives in Astoria, Oregon. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in art and art education, and has studied at Portland State University, Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. She also taught art at the secondary and post secondary levels. She recieved Best of Show at the annual juried Trail's End Art Association show and an Honorable Mention at the international juried Au Naturel competition.

Her background includes over 30 years working and teaching in private and public sector management and administration. Her work includes ten years as a community college Dean of Continuing Education, overseeing and providing project management for small business and large corporate training and development.
